Casting Services

Sand casting, investment casting, and die casting in iron, steel, aluminum, and bronze. From pattern making through post-casting machining, we manage the full production chain for your cast components.

Overview

Complex Shapes, Reliable Production

Casting allows the production of complex geometries and large components that would be impractical or uneconomical to machine from solid. MegaMETA manages casting projects end-to-end, from pattern development and foundry coordination through finishing and quality inspection.

We work with a network of trusted foundries across Europe, selecting the best facility for each project based on casting method, material, size, and volume requirements. Every casting is inspected before delivery to ensure it meets your specification. We accept custom projects based on your technical drawings and CAD files, with flexible batch quantities from prototypes to serial production.

Casting Methods

Three Processes, One Source

High Volume

Sand Casting

The most versatile casting process, suitable for a wide range of sizes (0.5 kg to 5,000+ kg) and materials. Wooden or metal patterns enable both prototype and production quantities.

Precision

Investment Casting

Lost-wax process for complex, thin-walled parts with excellent surface finish and tight tolerances. Weight range from grams to approximately 50 kg. Near-net-shape production minimizes post-casting machining.

Production

Die Casting

High-pressure die casting for high-volume aluminum and zinc components. Excellent dimensional repeatability and surface quality. Economical for production runs of 1,000+ pieces.

Tooling

Pattern Making & Tooling

We manage the complete pattern and tooling development process, from 3D model through to proven production tooling. Pattern design accounts for shrinkage, draft angles, and coring requirements to ensure castable geometry.

  • Wooden patterns for prototype and low-volume sand casting
  • Metal (aluminum) patterns for higher-volume sand casting production
  • Wax injection tooling for investment casting
  • Die casting dies designed and produced to specification
  • Pattern storage and maintenance for repeat orders

Quality & Inspection

Every Casting Inspected

All castings pass through our quality inspection process before delivery. We verify dimensional accuracy, material properties, and surface condition to ensure compliance with your drawing and specification requirements.

  • CMM dimensional inspection of critical features
  • Material certificates with chemical analysis and mechanical properties
  • Visual and surface defect inspection
  • Hardness testing (Brinell, Rockwell)
  • NDT available: radiographic (RT), ultrasonic (UT), magnetic particle (MT), penetrant (PT)
  • Pressure testing for leak-tight castings
Ultrasonic testing inspection of cast components

Process

Casting Production Workflow

1

Technical Review & Method Selection

We review your part drawing and requirements, recommend the optimal casting method and material, and provide a quotation including pattern tooling and per-piece costs.

2

Pattern & Tooling Development

Casting patterns or tooling are designed and produced. Pattern geometry accounts for material shrinkage, machining stock, and draft angles.

3

Casting Production

Castings are produced at the selected foundry under our quality supervision. Sample castings are inspected and approved before full production release.

4

Post-Casting Machining

Castings are machined through our partner network to achieve final dimensions and surface finishes on critical features. All machining tolerances are held per your drawing.

5

Quality Inspection & Delivery

Complete dimensional inspection, material verification, and surface quality check. Castings are packaged with full documentation and shipped to your facility.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Tolerance capability depends on material grade, casting method, and part geometry. We work to controlled dimensional tolerances specified in your technical drawings for industrial applications.

Yes. Material certificates and documentation can be provided upon request, including verification of chemical composition and mechanical properties (EN 10204 3.1).

We produce gray iron (GG/EN-GJL), ductile iron (GGG/EN-GJS), and other cast iron grades based on strength, wear resistance, and damping specifications outlined in your drawings.

Yes. Our stainless casting capability supports complex shapes, internal cavities, and detailed structures through investment casting while maintaining structural integrity.

Iron casting is widely used in machinery bases, housings, and structural components. Stainless casting serves automotive, marine, food processing, chemical, and general engineering sectors.

We follow controlled production processes, standardized mould preparation, and inspection procedures including dimensional, NDT, and visual checks for repeatability across batches.

Yes. We produce custom components based on CAD files, technical drawings, and specific dimensional or material requirements, from single prototypes to serial production.

Lead times depend on casting method, complexity, material selection, and batch size. We confirm timelines after technical project evaluation, typically 4-8 weeks for new patterns.

Yes. Cast components can undergo CNC turning, milling, drilling, and grinding operations through our machining partners to achieve final dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements.

Yes. We serve clients across Europe and beyond, ensuring reliable logistics, consistent production standards, and full export documentation.
